Wade Trips

Most fly fishing in Northern New Mexico is done on foot, and wade trips offer access to some of the region’s most productive water. From the Rio Grande to high mountain streams around Taos, we guide anglers across a range of locations—from easily accessible stretches to more remote sections of river.

All necessary gear is provided for wade trips, including waders/wading boots, rods, reels, lines, flies, and terminal tackle. After booking, you’ll receive a detailed checklist to help you prepare for your day on the water. Recommended items typically include a water bottle, polarized sunglasses, a rain jacket, and a hat. Conditions can change quickly throughout the day, so dressing in layers is always advised for comfort and adaptability.

You will need a New Mexico Fishing License, which is not included with trip. You can purchase one at https://wildlife.dgf.nm.gov Just a screenshot of license in enough.

Float Trips

Fishing from a raft offers a comfortable and immersive way to experience the Rio Grande. With a stable setup and room to relax between casts, float trips provide a unique perspective on the river while maximizing time on the water.

Our float trips take place on the lower stretches south of Taos, where we regularly run two productive sections. This approach allows us to cover a significant amount of water in a single day, accessing runs that are difficult to reach on foot. Depending on conditions, we may also stop to wade fish select areas for a more targeted approach.

All necessary gear is provided for float trips, including waders/wading boots, rods, reels, lines, flies, and terminal tackle.

While these trips do not involve technical or heavy whitewater, they are led with a strong emphasis on safety and experience, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable day on the river.
